In every surgical field of Dentistry and Medicine, the rate of success is directly related to the number and frequency of procedures a surgeon performs. High success is not likely when a dentist does only occasional surgery. It is simply not possible to develop and maintain skills and experience when implant surgery is not done on a regular basis. Dr. Shanelec limits his practice to dental implants and esthetic microsurgery. He performs minimally invasive dental implants microsurgery on a daily basis and places over 400 dental implants each year.

Dr. Shanelec has more peer-reviewed and published results on SMILE technique implants than any surgeon worldwide. We are proud of our record of success and constantly evaluate and improve dental implant microsurgery techniques and instruments to further improve our procedures.

Worldwide, the success rate of dental implants is about 96%. Our success rate with SMILE technique implants is higher than that figure. For example, over the past 4 years, Dr. Shanelec placed 171 SMILE implants to replace upper front teeth. Only two implants did not properly integrate.  These were successfully replaced at no charge to the patients. Our current success rate for SMILE Technique implants is over 98%. These results have been published in the California Dental Association Journal.
