What are dental implants?

Dental implants are substitute tooth roots. They preserve the integrity of facial structures by preventing bone loss from occurring when teeth are lost.   Dental Implants are made of Titanium. The metal Titanium forms a natural bond to bone securing a strong biological foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth.

There are many treatment possibilities for dental implants. Dental implants can replace single fractured roots:

Dental implants can also replace single roots with failing endodontic treatment:

Endodontic Failure Implant Crown on Left Incisor Implant X-ray

Root resorption, often follows traumatic tooth injury.  This is another indication for dental implants:

When a multiple teeth have been lost, Dental Implants can provide a stable foundation for bridgework, partial removable dentures or full removable dentures:

No more bridges, partials or root canals”.

Implant treatment allows people with missing or failing teeth to regain the ability to eat and speak normally. They can smile with ease and confidence in a natural appearance.

What Are the Benefits of Implants?

  • Maintains your natural facial structure by preventing bone resorption
  • Restores your mouth as closely as possible to a normal function with a natural smile
  • Improves appearance by eliminating wrinkles around the mouth that occur when teeth are lost
  • Eliminates the need to cut down healthy enamel of adjacent teeth for bridgework
  • Improves health by restoring your ability to chew and enjoy healthy foods
  • Increases comfort by eliminating pain from loose fitting partial and full and dentures

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants?

Nearly everyone missing a tooth is a candidate for dental implants. Today, dental implants are the preferred method of tooth replacement.  If you are currently experiencing any of the following difficulties, you should consider dental implants.

  • The loss of one or more teeth
  • Unnatural and unattractive changes in your facial features
  • Lack of confidence when speaking or smiling
  • Loose dentures that need constant relines or adhesives
  • Difficulty in chewing certain foods

Dental Implants Compared to Bridges?

  • Dental implants preserve bone. No other treatment option prevents bone loss when teeth are lost.
  • Dental implants preserve adjacent teeth. Bridges require grinding away healthy enamel and place unnatural stress on teeth.
  • Dental implants endure. The average bridge lasts just 10 years. Dental implants are designed to last a lifetime.
